Jasper is the clown of the family & commonly called Hooney Man or Hoons for short. In fact he only gets Jasper when he is naughty!!
Hoons as a baby
When he was little he would run and sit between my legs if anything worried him. A ‘Mums boy’ .. in fact he still is but a lot braver now!!
Hoons at 4yrs
He is pale blonde in colour with a beautiful long mane & a faint spot on his forehead like his Dad. A very handsome lad.
He chases shadows & sees ghosts!! An attribute he has passed on to many of his pups for good or bad!!
He is out for a good time & not keen on rounding up the sheep but will bark at the cattle. He is great on cuddles & making us laugh.
Sometimes we do think he would have preferred to have been born black as spends a lot of hi time that colour…
the black & white hoons
He has huge character & has passed many of his hilarious quirks onto his pups. He will often just run up to us & want a cuddle when we are out doing things.
He sometimes does this cute little nibble on us & it is just to say how happy he is. You know he likes you if you get a nibble.
He has an attitide I admire of play hard & sleep well!! You don’t want to give him a surprise when he’s asleep..
He runs like the wind & more often than not when out on a walk I won’t see him till we reach our meeting point at the top of the hill. He is a really happy dog & has a huge energy level.
When he has been naughty he blinks at us as if we are going to beat him up. It is impossible to get angry with him. Hoons is one in a million & we love him to bits.
Jasper is now officially retired.

Gee apart from a slightly darker colour and a little less fluffy….Osca so looks like his dad. Its amazing! He has the personality of both his parents. Loving to cuddle up on our pillows into a tiny ball but also a huge follower of Hoons’ play hard sleep well ethic. We just love him to bits. Cannot imagine our lives without him in it now.
Just read Jasper’s profile. Now know why Mac has this uncontrollable urge to chase shadows and sees things in the dark that mystify me.
yes he has passed it on to a few of his progeny. It’s quite cute & it does get less as they get older!! Big hugs to Mac
I was just admiring your beautiful border collies when I came across Japer. We recently lost Dodger who Jasper reminds me of, even down to his fascination with shadows! They look like twins as puppies.
