Molly & Bill have 10 pups 29/08/15
Well done Molls. I knew she was big but this number did come as a surprise.. In fact she actually had 11.. But no 11… 12 hours later was dead on arrival. She had a really good birth otherwise and the pups were all great sizes ranging from 310gms to 400gms. We got blacks chocolates & choc tris. I have emailed some people wanting pups but if you are interested and you haven’t heard from me then you best email me straight away..
And this is how amazing dogs are.. This is Molly on the Thursday prior to her popping the pups out on Saturday. Out on a walk with the rest of us..
And it is also with great sorrow this week we said our last goodbye to a very lovely lady Dianne Wright. We met Dianne & Peter back in 2004 when they took home their first pup Tess. They were fantastic at keeping in touch with me and would bring Tess over to see us. Over the years we got to know Di & Peter well. Dianne always wanted a dog called Pat. Pat the dog. Dianne’s great sense of humour. Both girls were from Tyler. Dogs dont live forever but its pretty sad when they outlive their owners. Dianne was a wonderful happy lady and I will miss her friendship and laughter. Here are some of my photo memories of her. Rest in peace Di and I hope you get plenty of cuddles from Tyler…
muddy winter
Well August already so I guess winter will nearly be over thank goodness. It hasn’t been so cold but with all the dogs, the rain is a hazard & creates mud mud & more mud. We will be pleased to have the next lot of pups in hopefully much better & warmer weather.. And yes I am excited. Molly is looking very pregnant and in less than 2 weeks they will have arrived. With the handsome father being Bill the pups will be gorgeous…
And of course we have also mated Lani & Sue. Now it was interesting with Lani as our Chico wasnt showing much interest in her and Greg was all set to head up North with Lani to visit Bill… next minute… Chico had mated her.. so once that was done it was no good visiting Bill. We only got the one mating but that is all it takes. Lani was such a great mum last time we look forward to babies again. Photos of her last litter I am about to post father down.. read on!.
When Sue came on heat Chico was VERY excited. Sue & Chico are the best of buddies anyway so it was a pretty cute romance.. We had lots of howling & romantic singing during the nights!! Normally quite cute but Chico managed to get everyone singing with him so after a while the songs wore a little thin!!! We have had Chico DNA colour tested so we know what colours he carries but not so sure on Lani & Sue. We know we can expect from Lani reds, chocolates, blacks anyway.. maybe blues. Sue & Chico will also have reds & blue tris & not sure if anything else. Chico is a honey of a dog. We are delighted with his laid back temperament and very excited about meeting his first pups.
So Lanis first litter of pups turned 1yr at the end of July & Charlies 1yr early Aug. I have some photos of their progress to share. You may remember Lani had one very small girl Stella. Well she is doing really well in obedience classes & is very loved- Can be pretty possessive of her food!! She had a 1st celebration with her brother Charlie. She weighs 11kg now so still small for a border but otherwise all good. Thanks to all the others for the birthday pics..
I still miss my Tyler so much and are reminded of her in Sue ( her great grand daughter) Tyler had the spot on my bed & there was no room for any others & even our share was small in the end too!!.. but it must be in the genes as most of the dogs get up for a cuddle & get down again but Tylers lines.. hmm. One night I had Trinity at the bottom of the bed, then Tui middle & Sue by my head & Greg on the other side.. certainly no need for a hottie!! Tui seems to be the most regular to have taken her spot but Sue isn’t far behind.. Tui tries to hide her head in the sheets in the mornings so we wont kick her out.. how cute is that!! Our little Bobbie still sleeps in the crate next to my bed!!(another great granddaughter!!) I open her door in the mornings and she jumps up and what a wee snuggler…
So all good here. We have had a few problems with Riley in and out of the vet with a lump reoccurring on his side. The vet suspects a grass seed but cant find it. I have hated having him chopped into so many times and poor Riley wont even go near the car now!! Thats life..
Our little Bobbie is now 5months and turning into quite a character. She makes me laugh with her antics.. She has lots of friends .. all the dogs seem to love her and also Chloe who is back living here. She is Frankies sister and wasn’t happy where she was so…. Chloe & Bobbie spend hours playing those mouthing games!! Enjoy my pics!!
brrr winter has arrived
Looking at the temps down South I shouldn’t be complaining!! the dogs do enjoy the cooler days & go crazy when its windy. Mind you Hoons is getting old now so we think he feels the cold at night & have a heater on especially for him!!
Tuis pups are now out & about in their new homes. Bobbie has stayed with us to keep Tui company!! 🙂 Nice to have a little black and white around the place again.. I got a lovely photo of Cash who went down to Chch & is enjoying the snow!! Cash is living with a big Tylerwild sister called Ruby. The first few weeks everyone wonders what on earth they have taken on but then things do settle down.. Trust me!!
So after the pups have gone we are back into a more normal routine and the normal evening cuddles.. and out and about with me in general day activities. Lovely days but cool nights. And when its not raining I just love getting out with these guys.. who wouldn’t. They are great mates..
Tui’s liddle beauties
A fabulous bunch of pups. Super friendly & love their cuddles. I have 2 blacks available. Ready to go after May 8th. (One of the pups is going to Wellington so we can share travel there.)
Tui has been a fantastic mother. More so this time round than her first litter I think. She has continually been in feeding & checking on them and now that they are older it is super cute watching her play with them. They jump all over her, pull her ears and she is just great. They certainly have very sharp teeth & scratchy claws at this age.. so I think she is incredibly tolerant..
One of Tuis pups (Flynn)from her first litter now 1 year old got into a bit of trouble..
Aren’t these photos just great.. headlines in the paper read “Dog caught in action”.. but no the truth of the matter is Flynn’s Mum is a policewoman!! Thanks Nicola for sharing them.Cripes & there is more.. Sasha in Wellington nearly 8yrs old & also in trouble.. thanks Christine for that.. I might be able to start up a B/C Police five post!!
And here is my beautiful Maddie and the Bruce Goose.. they were up on the bank watching the pups.. Both 12 years old and feeling pleased they didn’t have to look after the mad babies below!!
Tuis Pups and Tylers Tribute
Tui has had a beautiful bunch of pups. 2 b&w girls, 1 b&w boy, 2 blue girls, 1 blue boy, 1 blue tri boy. Born late afternoon into evening on the 12 March. All doing well.
so.. a few days have passed many tears but I have managed to gather my thoughts and put together a remembrance for my Tyler.
Tuesday the 10th March. Tyler RIP
The grief is huge and although I knew this was coming it makes it no easier. Deep breath and here goes.. poor keyboards will get a tad damp writing this..
I wonder.. why do I do this.. what is it that pulls your heart strings so hard.
This is why..
| It is 2am on the 17th November 2000- Invercargill. My princess is born. |
- Tyler my princess
- Tyler 7wks old
Jessie Bear was 5 years old & the last thing she wanted was to see the arrival of 7 squirming puppies. Jessie having slept on my bed all her life suddenly was nowhere to be found & her babies would be crying. I became the fulltime nanny for those pups & every feed it was Jessie and me. I guess that’s why they were so special. By eight weeks and a bunch of crazy wee pups I realised I had to toughen up & find homes as I couldn’t keep all 7. Tyler and the Hoons were the chosen two but they were many tears over the others leaving!!
I had no digital camera back then but I had a film done every week of Tyler & Hoons litter. I would get them back & think Oh.. better take some more as they are REALLY cute this week!! I put an album together which I still enjoy looking through.
Tyler was beautiful. As a small pup she had the longest eyelashes & it made your heart melt. She had a huge confidence & an air of grace about her even as a tiny tot.
She would always steal girlie things.. pink and pretty were her favs!!
As young pups we would take them out to the beautiful open beaches at Oreti & they would run wild with Jessie & Sambo. March 2001 we moved up North and lived at Papamoa Beach. My two then fluffy bears would continue to run the beach as if it was unoccupied & their own. Many a time they would disappear into the far distance chasing seagulls & I would just have to hold my breathe till they returned. I knew they always would but there was always that thought that someone might ‘steal’ them!!
Then we moved here too Katikati and Tyler spent her days chasing swallows up & down the hills. Our creek was home to water rats and she became hunter supreme.
Her other passion became hedgehogs.. No idea what she sensed in them or how she found them.. but miles off course I would hear Tyler do her “Ive found one” bark & she would have the tribe there with her.. The only times I could never get them to come back. Often in places she knew I couldn’t get to so I would have to wait till the excitement was over & they came back to me.. ggrr. Tyler would eventually arrive covered in blood..
Our land had nothing on it when we arrived and as we fenced for stock & built, Tyler learnt to jump.
Her only fear was thunder & guns. If a gun went off there would no chance even a walk would entice her out the door.
When Sambo died Tyler took over as the dogs leader. She was amazing. Never snarly or aggressive but if she thought one of the dogs got out of line she would stand over them & growl. I wish I knew what she said as it always worked.
Tyler was a great Mum. But her births were the furthest from any text book story you could have. We could go for hours between pups. Tyler was never stressed. She would have a snooze, have something to eat & then pop another one out. If anything happened of excitement outside she’d have a look.. Looking back she was a nightmare in that respect.
Visitors were always greeted with huge excitement. Everyone was the same & treated like long lost buddies. She was known for her licking.. which wasn’t always received with the same enthusiasm it was given!!
She wasn’t a clingy dog but she would look at you with her big brown sorrowful eyes. When Jessie died in 2009 Tyler took over her spot next to me on the bed.
Tyler was always great with kids and has been dressed up & made to play games…
She has had a wonderful life. One of my very good friends once said to me they would like to come back as one of my dogs.. and I guess that sort of sums up my dogs lives. They are my family. Tyler has produced some wonderful pups & it has been nice this week to welcome into the world some of her great grand children. Tui often reminds me of Tyler.. the way she looks at me with her beautiful brown eyes.. It is heartening to know we have many of her progeny out there.
Tylers leaderhood was challenged a year ago by the younger members of our pack. I suspected that maybe something wasn’t going so well with her although a check up showed she was strong I knew something was up. Over the last year she was our ‘special needs dog’. She choose not to come on our walks and that was pretty sad. Her relationship with her brother who she had spent so many hours playing with ended and that was sad. In the end we were getting up 3 times a night with her & her breathing started to weaken. Her walking was difficult but there was no way she wasn’t going to climb those stairs to my bed. It frightened me she might fall.
Her lymph glands were swollen & we suspect a secondary cancer.
She died with her dignity in place and broke my heart.
She is buried on our lawn next to her Mum Jessie, sleeping on one of my duvets like she has done for the last 6 years. She is at peace. She will never be forgotten.
She will always be my princess I feel privileged to have had her company for her entire life from the minute she was born till…
I have spent the last few days looking back over photos of her & Id like to share some of those. Tyler has given me many years of happiness. I will miss her dearly.
(20 years I have had a dog sleep beside me now. Greg wonders who will be the next and hopes it will stick to my side of the bed!! Tyler started to take over!!)
Tyler RIP
My Princess died today. A tribute will follow but right now the tears flow for one of the most beautiful dogs…
PS…Tui her granddaughter is still in one piece!!!
March madness
Well hard to believe we are into the 3rd month of the year already. We have said goodbye to Shiraz and Rileys gorgeous bunch of puppies. They were four lovely wee fellows and we had Bella for a little bit longer while her parents had a holiday before they took her on!! She came out on walks with us & the big kids and was a very confident young lady. My young Chico was very gentle with her and really enjoyed playing. It was super cute.
It has been super hot over the last couple of months so our creek gets plenty of use. Lani makes us laugh with her performance. She loves to dive in and will do it over and over again. It is quite a hoot.
All the dogs enjoy the water & Tui who is now looking very pregnant will lie very quietly in the shallows. Tui’s mum Trinity is a water baby from way back and also Sue Tuis daughter loves the water too. Tui is such a great wee dog to have pregnant as she takes things easy and looks after herself unlike Shiraz who never slows down. Tui doesn’t have long to go now and I am very excited about her arrivals coming. March 11 so watch this space..
My wee Aussie boy Chico is 5 months old. He is quite a character. He talks to me and it does sound like he is talking.. very cute … has a bit of an Aussie twang but I’m sure we can knock that out of him!! he has just discovered he can get in our fish pond. It does look very cute but I’m not sure our poor fish think the same.. he is getting big..
And we have had a few visitors come recently. Bill would have to be one of the most beautiful borders you will ever meet. He is such an awesome dog. He is like a big lion. Man I love that dog.. he is Trinitys brother who is a smaller version. I hope to keep a Bill pup to keep on that line in the near future..
And we have also had 2 of Bill & Charlies kids here for a visit. It was lovely getting to know them. Riley reminded us so much of her Grandmother Tyler it was amazing. Even her mannerisms. Thanks Ross & Sarah for sharing them with us!!
Our Maddie turned 12 years in the start of Feb. She is a lovely old girl. Still pretty active and loves her cuddles. It is nice we have 2 of her daughters Shiraz and Lani.
Summer is here
So Happy new Year..
Prior to Christmas I doubted summer was even coming. Now its fantastic but we will need rain for our pastures & stock. We have dust for Africa too which isn’t so pleasant.
Just before Xmas we collected our little Aussie import from the airport we called Chico. We are thrilled with our wee man & he has settled in really well.Yesterday (Sunday) the dogs & I decided to head down to the creek to cool off… I took my camera along just to give you an idea of the life they have. About 15 years ago we bought this property & back then we had our dear Jessie Bear (then 6years) who was a water baby extraordinaire & it was her love of water that made us buy here… .Many of her off spring now benefit & enjoy.. The creek on the whole is quite shallow but we have a few water holes perfect for my friends & even after no rain we have plenty of swimming holes. Lani in particular loves the water & dives head down.. I dont know what she is after but its quite a hoot.. I would like to share a slide show of our walk & some of my family.. Check out my puppy page for our next litter news too.. Shirazs pups are all homed but… Tui has been mated so…More Sues on the way!!
And then of course we also have the most gorgeous little bunch of puppies.. They are so cute. Chico is very gentle with them.. Enjoy some of their pics.
Pups and Christmas
Only a week & a bit till Santa comes now.. Hope all those Tylerwild puppies are behaving so Santa does come!! I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and look forward to photos of Tylerwild pups now that you have time to relax over the festive season!!! Thank you so much to those who do send pics & updates during the year. I REALLY love getting them.
Shiraz had her puppies last week. We have 2 boys & 2 girls who are doing really well. They are very content & have just opened their eyes. Pups have all found homes.
The end of this week I collect my new pup Chico. New blood in from Australia. He is living with 2 of my pups from Maddie & Riley at the moment Rosie & Bella who are 2 yrs old & in fact also Lanis sisters. I got some photos today of the girls with him sending love & best wishes back to their Kiwi family.. & telling him to be a good boy!!(I hope)
I can not wait!!! He is now nearly 12 wks & living in the dry outback of Aussie so hasn’t encountered grass yet.. He will be in for a surprise!! very exciting… Anyway.. Have a happy & safe Christmas & dont forget your furry friends
Shiraz due next week
Shiraz is starting to show quite a fat tum now. Although the weather can’t quite make up its mind if it’s going to be hot or cold Shiraz is enjoying a cooler spell. We will be on full alert for their arrivals from mid next week. Looking forward to it…
I have also finally got around to putting Sue & Frankies pages up so you might like to have a look at those too..
November has been a month of birthdays for lots of Tylerwild pups & the two most important ones Hoons & Tyler celebrated 14yrs on the 17th. Certainly a day 14yrs ago I remember very well… They are lovely old dogs now. Both aging quite rapidly & require more looking after. Still in good health & still 2 of my very best ever friends.
Also Bruce turned 12yrs on the 1st. He takes top position on the couch these days.. hes a character, he has always got a smile..
And Tui was 3y on 10 Nov. We are waiting on her to come into season next month & hope to mate her again with Ozzie from Aneeda kennels.
I also have some VERY exciting news… Having gone to Australia earlier this year to have a look at a potential new line to bring in… after what seems like a life time wait I have a new boy coming.. With all the custom regulations I have to wait till he is 12wks old but he will arrive before Xmas & I CAN NOT WAIT… we are calling him Chico.. watch this space!!!
